Dr. Katerina Akabalieva is a psychiatrist with 15 years of experience in the field of psychiatry. She conducts consultations in all areas of psychiatry and has scientific interests in the modern treatment of schizophrenia, affective and anxiety disorders, addictions, and approaches to crisis interventions. Dr. Akabalieva does not consult with children.
Since 2011, she has participated in clinical studies on the treatment of schizophrenia, recurrent depressive disorder, bipolar affective disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and Alzheimer’s disease. Currently, she is the lead researcher in numerous clinical trials for innovative drug therapies in the biological treatment of mental illnesses.
Dr. Akabalieva graduated from the Medical University of Plovdiv in 2015 and received her diploma in the specialty of Psychiatry. In the same year, she also obtained a Ph.D. degree.
