Dr Liliya Kavrakova is specialist psychiatrist in Sofia with more than 18 years clinical experience. Dr Kavrakova conducts examinations in all fields of psychiatry and has scientific interests in the area of modern treatment of schizophrenia, affective and anxiety disorders, addictions and crisis intervention approaches.

Since 2012 she active takes part in clinical trials with regards to treatment of schizophrenia, recurrent depressive disorder, bipolar affective disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, Alzheimer’s disease. Currently she’s the primary investigator in numerous clinical trials for innovative drug therapies and biological treatment of mental illnesses. She does not work with children.

Education

Dr Kavrakova graduates from Plovdiv medical university in 2005 and completes her speciality in psychiatry at Sofia medical university in 2013. In 2023 she obtains Master’s degree in public health and health management.

Qualifications

Dr Kavrakova is also leading investigator in numerous clinical trials through innovative drug therapies and biological treatment of mental illnesses.
She is regularly taking part in national and international congresses and seminars in the field of psychiatry and is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association.

Biography

Until 2009 she wotked at the National Psychiatric Hospital for the treatment of drug addiction and alcoholism where she gained great experience in treating dependencies. In 2013 she completed her specialization in psychiatry at the Psychiatric Clinic at the Aleksandrovska University General Hospital where she works as an MD since 2009. From 2020 she is part of the team at MC Hera Sofia.
