Hera Medical Center joins FutureMeds
News

Medical Center Hera has joined FutureMeds, a European clinical research organisation working across seven countries.
Patient appointments, medical team and current care will continue as planned. Our patients can continue to contact and use Hera in the same way as before.
Hera will retain its name and local approach. Decisions about patient care will continue to be made by the doctors and medical professionals who know our patients’ individual needs.
“Hera was built on the trust patients place in our doctors and teams. Joining FutureMeds allows us to keep the personal, local approach that defines Hera while giving our professionals access to wider medical and research expertise. Your care remains our priority, and we will communicate clearly if anything directly affecting you changes.”
— Emil Kostov, Founder & Projects manager, Medical Center Hera
Since 2019, Hera has grown by building strong relationships with patients and healthcare professionals in Sofia, Montana and Kyustendil.
Joining FutureMeds gives our teams access to wider expertise, additional support and more international clinical research opportunities. This will help Hera continue to develop while preserving the local relationships and way of working that patients already know.
Over time, this may also create more opportunities for patients in Bulgaria to take part in relevant clinical trials.
FutureMeds is a European network of clinical research sites network.
Their teams work with doctors, patients, pharmaceutical companies and research organisations to support clinical trials. These studies help researchers understand whether potential new medicines and treatments are safe and effective.
By expanding its network and also supporting trial activities in patients’ homes, FutureMeds aims to make clinical research more accessible and help promising new therapies reach patients sooner.
There are no changes to patient appointments, treatment or medical team. Hera doctor will continue to make decisions about patient care based on individual medical needs.
Where a study may be suitable, patients will receive clear information from a qualified medical or research professional. Participation will always be voluntary, and choosing not to take part will not affect the care patients receive from Hera.
Over time, joining FutureMeds may enable Hera to participate in a wider range of international clinical trials, giving suitable patients in Bulgaria access to more research opportunities.
FutureMeds teams have already supported more than 32,000 people participating in clinical trials across Europe. Hera will be able to draw on this wider experience, research network and operational support when considering future studies.
Protecting patient information remains a priority.
Hera will continue to protect personal and medical information in line with applicable healthcare, privacy and data-protection requirements.
Patient information will not be used for clinical research or shared without an appropriate legal basis and the safeguards required by law.
Hera’s commitment remains unchanged: to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare shaped around the needs of each patient.
Our specialists bring experience across a wide range of medical fields, supported by modern facilities, diagnostic equipment and a personal approach to care. We believe patients should receive clear information, professional attention and support that reflects their individual circumstances.
Joining FutureMeds will help Hera build on these foundations by giving our teams access to wider medical and research expertise, additional operational support and more international clinical trial opportunities.
What will remain central is the relationship between each patient and the healthcare professionals supporting them. Patient health, safety, privacy and right to make informed decisions will continue to guide everything we do.
