Project BG16RFPR001-1.008-0275-C01 Implementation Commences

On 07.07.2026, “Medical Center Hera” Ltd. signed Grant Agreement No. BG16RFPR001-1.008-0275-C01 for the Introduction of Industry 4.0 Technologies at “Medical Center Hera” Ltd. under the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Union.

The project aims to increase the level of automation and digitalization at “Medical Center Hera” to Level 4 “Transparency” according to the Maturity Index, through the introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies: Big Data Analytics in combination with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their integration with the technologies currently available at the enterprise. The achievement of a high level of automation and digitalization of the business process for the provision of services, related to clinical trials of medicinal products for the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, will be achieved through the acquisition of tangible fixed assets: a gastrointestinal endoscopic system with integrated technology for Big Data analysis and processing using Artificial Intelligence (AI) – 1 unit.

The expected results from the implementation of the project are:

– introduction of new Industry 4.0 technologies, with Big Data Analytics as the leading technology in combination with the additional technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI);

– a high level of automation and digitalization of the activities of the enterprise, including a fundamental transformation of the business process for the provision of services related to clinical trials of medicinal products for the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, to Level 4 “Transparency”;

– consistently high quality of the clinical trial services provided, reliability and accuracy of therapeutic outcomes from the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the field of gastroenterology;

– increased capacity to conduct clinical trials of medicinal products in the field of gastroenterology;

– additional technological capability for the early diagnosis and screening of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract;

– development and enhancement of the enterprise’s capacity for research and innovation in the field of gastroenterology and for the implementation of new Industry 4.0 technologies;

– optimized business process and improved efficiency;

– approximately 10% reduction in electricity consumption per examination;

– approximately 20% reduction in the duration of the medical procedure;

– approximately 50% reduction in waste (wastewater and cleaning agents) generated from cleaning the endoscopes after examinations;

– approximately 50% reduction in consumables costs (water and disinfectants);

– increased competitiveness of the company and a medium-term increase in the number of clinical trials of medicinal products undertaken in the field of gastroenterology;

– approximately 10% increase in the enterprise’s market share in the medium term;

– increased added value generated by the enterprise.
